MORPHEUS RISING are one of the hottest, most vibrant and dynamic heavy rock / metal bands on the UK circuit today.
Formed in 2008, the band have earned a reputation for incredibly powerful yet melodic music, and lively stage shows! They regularly tour the UK, and have released 2 epic albums so far - the most recent being Eximius Humanus. Links are strong between the ‘Morphs’ and PANIC ROOM - the two bands have been friends for years, have played shows together, and have even been known to exchange band members before! - Morpheus Rising’s phenomenal lead guitarist - Pete Harwood - stepped in to play lead with the Panics back in 2012, and PR bassist Yatim Halimi can sometimes be seen standing in on bass with MR! But the reason we wanted Morpheus Rising to play at the first even PANIC ROOM Weekend is simple - because they Rock!!! And we can’t wait to see & hear them kicking off the Saturday night (21st May) in Magnificent Morphs style! |

This is the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, dragged kicking and screaming into the new millennium. ‘NWoBHM’ - The Next Generation!? With a distinctive style heavily informed by bands such as Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden and Alter Bridge, Morpheus Rising produce a high-energy show which keeps the 'old guard’ of heavy rock happy, and shows the new generation how it's done! The phenomenal guitar work of Pete Harwood is central to the band’s sound, coupled with Simon Wright's dynamic classic rock vocals. From the anthemnic 'Lord of the North’ to the lighter Those Who Watch, this is a band who will not disappoint.

ALBUMS The band’s first album - Let The Sleeper Awake - was released in late 2011, and was followed up by a UK Tour in 2012. The critically acclaimed debut was regularly featured by Johnny Doom on Kerrang Radio, Shane Carlson on ARfm, Tony Corner on Firebrand Radio, etc. Features in Classic Rock Prog, Classic Rock Society magazine and cover mount CDs led to sales across Europe, Asia and North America. 2013 saw the band touring with PANIC ROOM on their Summer tour, and the first line up change in two years with ex Saxon and Oliver Dawson Saxon drummer Nigel Durham joining the band full time. In August 2013, the band signed to Melodic Revolution Records in the USA, ahead of the band’s second studio release, EXIMIUS HUMANUS, which was financed through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign and released in February 2014. In 2016, Morpheus Rising announced the launch of their own Record Label, an imprint of the major Cherry Red Records. morpheusrising.co.uk |
